Killers of kidnapped Colonel Samaila Inusa arrested

Killers of Colonel Samaila Inusa who was kidnapped and killed in Kaduna last March were caught in Anambra and Ebonyi, according to Sahara Reporters.

Colonel Samaila Inusa was kidnapped from his car by unknown abductors in the northern state of Kaduna on March 27, 2016. Inusa, a serving officer at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry in Jaji, was in his car with his wife when the abductors intercepted his vehicle near the state-run Nigerian National Petroleum Corp.’s refinery junction in the Chikun local government area.
They later dropped off Inusa’s wife and drove away with him in his car, heading toward Nigeria’s capital of Abuja. The army promised a N1 million reward and to adequately protect anyone who provides useful information on the abducted colonel. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards his decomposing body was found near Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna in Kaduna state.
Preliminary investigation revealed that most likely the late senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors. He was buried at the old Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Muslim Cemetery in the state capital.
The identities as well as motive behind the criminals’ actions remain unclear.
